You search for light, but still the darkness grows

You wonder if anyone knows the pain you are in

Each time you stoop under life’s heavy load

There is no comfort from your friends or foes

When strength is gone, you think it’s the end of the road

When your heart is broken and tears fill your eyes

When it seems there is no cure for your woes

When you weep alone, no one there to hear your cries

When your need is great and you look toward the sky

You try to remember the highs, but can’t escape the lows

When everything in you wants to ask why

With a grateful heart, you lift thanksgiving’s song

From your heart the wind of praise upward blows

How can you thank Him for leading you along?

Then come the questions, “When will this life end?

When will I see Him, Heaven’s beautiful Rose?

When will I drop this robe of flesh and a new life begin?”
