God Knows His People

Psalm 139:1-7 "O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?"

I want us to look at who God really is and what He knows about us. That should challenge us, convict us, comfort us, change us.

I. God Knows Our Frame - Psalm 139:1 "O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me."

II. God Knows Our Frustrations - Psalm 139:2 "Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off."

III. God Knows Our Faults - Psa;m 139:3,4 "Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether."

IV. God Knows Our Future - Psalm 139:5 "Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me."

This truth about God ought to be more than just head knowledge; it needs to sink down into the uttermost part of your being and change you. It ought to bring a conviction, a challenge, a comfort; but it also ought to change your life to bring glory to God, the One who knows His people.

Are you glad that He knows you?
