Why We Should Immediately Confess Our Sin

(School started back this past Monday for our family. One of my subjects this year is outlining a passage from our morning Bible Time. Here is an outline from Monday.)

"Why We Should Immediately Confess Our Sin"

1Jo 1:6-9 "If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

1. Sin prohibits fellowship with God - 1Jo 1:6 "If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:"

2. Sin prohibits our prayers from being answered - Ps 66:18 "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:" Pr 1:28 "Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:"

3. Sin prohibits us from having a prosperous life - Pr 28:13 "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy."
