A Merry Heart

"A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones." Proverbs 17:22

While the mother was shopping, the little boy was allowed to play on a rocking horse in the toy department. Finally the mother was ready to go home and called to the boy, "Come on, son, let's go." The boy ignored all her pleadings and coaxings and refused to budge. After much time had passed and she saw that her efforts were in vain. In desperation the mother called the store psychiatrist.

Gently he walked over and whispered a few words in the boy's ear and immediately the lad jumped off and ran to his mother's side.

"How in the world did you do that?" the mother exclaimed. "What did you say to him?"

The psychiatrist hesitated for a moment, then said, "Madam, I simply said, "if you don't jump off that rocking horse at once , son, I'm going go knock the stuffing out of you!"

**********************************************************************

Patient: "Doctor, I think everyone tries to take advantage of me."

Psychiatrist: "That's silly. No one's trying to take advantage of you."

Patient: "Is that true? Thanks so much for your help, doctor. How much do I owe you?"

Psychiatrist: "How much do you have?"

**********************************************************************

Patient: "Doctor, I get the feeling that people don't care about anything I say."

Psychiatrist: "So what?"

**********************************************************************

Patient: "I'm worried; I keep thinking I'm a pair of curtains."

Psychiatrist: "Stop worrying and try to pull yourself together."

**********************************************************************

Patient: "My wife sent me because she thinks I've lost my memory."

Doctor: "How long has she been saying that?"

Patient: "Saying what?"

Haha...those are funny!

I enjoyed those, but I think my favorite would have to be the first one about the kid and the rocking horse.
