My First Soul

On Tuesday, November 16th, I had the opportunity to lead my first soul to the Lord. My brothers, another teenage boy and I were out knocking on doors inviting people to church. After we had knocked on several doors, I started on one side of the street while they hit the other side. I went up to one house and an older gentleman opened the door. I told him my name and as I was inviting him to church he asked me to come in. After we talked about our church a little bit, I asked him if he was saved. He told me that he had never been saved so I asked him if I could show him how he could be. He said "yes" and by this time I was getting nervous because this was the first time I had ever shown anyone how to be saved.
First, I explained to him what sin was and how there was a price on sin which was death in hell. (Romans 3:10,23) "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Next, I told him how Jesus suffered and died on the cross to pay for our sins. (Romans 5:8) "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Then, I shared with him the good news of how God offers to him that gift of eternal life. All he had to do was accept that gift. (Romans 6:23) "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 10:13) "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
After I explained everything to him, he told me that he believed that he was a sinner and also believed that Jesus died on the cross for him. I asked him if he would like to be saved and he said "yes" and guess what? He prayed and asked the Lord to save him! Praise the Lord!!
By this time, I was all excited and couldn't wait to tell everybody what happened. We talked a little more about him coming to church and although he wasn't able to come that Sunday (his daughter was picking him up for Thanksgiving), he did have a desire to come soon. I would like to ask each of you to pray for him; his name is Bill. Lord willing, I'm going to visit him again this Thursday. Please pray.

I heard about this Joshua!! I was so excited for you. I know when you lead that first soul to Christ it is like a reviving of your own soul. It is very exciting. I'm so thankful that you had that opportunity. I'll be praying for Bill.
