THOSE GOOD OL' LIBERALS

"But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand." Isaiah 32:8

I'm sure some are troubled that the word "liberal" is in the Bible, and adding to their dismay, it's use is never negative. God is a liberal God, and He gives to "all men liberally". He also sends the rain on the just and the unjust. Although there are those who handle the Word of God deceitfully and deny the Lord Jesus Christ, we should thank God for those in our churches who are liberal.

I want liberal church members who are willing and eager to give of their substance to help those in need. A church is blessed when its members freely and liberally love all its membership. Then, there are those who give of themselves liberally in church service and ministries. Thank God for this loyal army! Finally, there are those who eagerly and without thought of pay or reward pass out tracts and witness liberally to others.

Some pastors and evangelist are so programmed that they get an automatic "knee-jerk" reaction when they see or hear the word "liberal". One should pause and consider before condemning, you might be able to thank God for those good ol' liberals in your church. Every church needs…

A liberal enduing of the Holy Spirit-
A liberal baptism of love for it's members-
A liberal compassion for the suffering-
A liberal hand in the matter of giving-
A liberal willingness for missions-

Hmmm, good thought. "Freely you have received, freely give."
You're right; the word "liberal" automatically brings to my mind "the left wing."
Nice perspective. Thank you for this.

Dear Good Reporters.
Having lost your link on my site, I have gone searching for you on Google.
When I tried to find you from your comments on my blog, when I clicked on to your name, it would not send me to your blog, so I am so glad that I have found you!
Dad Golden is going in for his operataion today. You know boys, that I was asking you to pray for his salvation and he is still not saved. There have been so many prayers going up for him and I am so thankful for that. He is 81 now and today he will have a serious operation on his neck artery.
Would you please continue to pray for him? Today?
His operation is at one o'clock Ontario time.
We are leaving in a few hours to pick him up and bring him to Hamilton General Hospital...
Thanks so much...from Terry

The way I lost your link was when I changed my template..
The way I found it was by clicking your name into Google and when the subject came up about evolution, I thought to myself, "Who else but my Good Reporters would be brave and faithful enough to write a post about THAT!?"

PS your good friend Glenys Hicks is doing just fine after her operation and she is praying for Dad!
