"OUR HEADS IN THE SAND"

Here we are in the post-Christian, pre-Islam era, and our crowd continues to talk as though we were still living in the 1940’s! The liberal mindset, which, sad to say, has entered even fundamentalism, would give us the impression that things are not really all that bad. In addition to that pitiful view, there exists an open hatred for anyone who dares to suggest that there is a problem and that something is terribly wrong. These people are identified in II Peter 3:3,4.
“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”
I must confess that, when I read that Muslims were planning to run five of their candidates for the House of Representatives, I was doubtful. But then one of them was elected! For anyone who knows the real heart of that religion, this is chilling news. When I brought up this subject recently, someone said, “…but he is not Arabic”. This is exactly what I mean - the color of a person’s skin, his national origin, or his mother tongue are not the issue; the real issue is the content of his religion.
Only the simple-minded will be fooled by all the “peaceful religion” rhetoric we are hearing today. It’s difficult to get a good idea of what Islam is all about by watching its adherents in this country while they are “flying under the radar”. The real mind and soul of the movement can be understood only by looking at this major religion worldwide.
FUNDAMENTALISM IS A NON-PLAYER
…and that is why I so often say that our crowd is “sitting on the bench”. Not only do we fail to understand the reality of the threat we face, but we are in denial of plain facts. America is divided in a way that has nothing to do with political parties; it is the real, historical America, as opposed to the present-day liberal mind and heart. Like it or not, in the recent election, our nation did not vote for political parties; it voted for the death of its soul and morality. It approved sodomy, abortion, and a whole maze of evils. The action of a nation mocked God and set the stage for the opening of a veritable Pandora’s box containing the likes of such ills as euthanasia, infanticide, and open season on real Christianity.
I already know what my mail is going to say after this issue has gone out - “Come on, it’s not that bad.” You are right; it’s not just that bad, but much worse than we can even dream! The prophet’s message is no longer welcome in our world. Even the people on our side of the aisle are asking, “Can’t we all just get along?”
That is exactly why the fundamentalism movement is in a state of deadfall. Not only did we fall asleep on the watch, but we are also in denial, even though the warning has now been sounded! I am thankful, however, that there are those who adamantly refuse to be silent. Count me in!
THE JUDGEMENT OF GOD
I remember the first time I heard someone say, “If God does not judge America, He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorra”. Biblical scholars have often wondered why America is not mentioned in prophecy. Could it be that the America we have known and loved will no longer even be in existence? One can only wonder how this all relates to Islam’s expressed goal for an Islamic West.
While we have no direct prophecy about this possibility, we do have two things to consider: God’s principles and the very character of God. Though God may delay judgment, His holiness eventually requires it. No nation on earth has the military power to win in an attack on our country. There does exist a nation, however, which has already proven it has the power to cripple whole civilizations. Strangely enough, the liberal establishment has the same mindset and heart as does the nation of Islam. Because man is the God of both movements and they are both religions, they even have the same God. THE ATTACK HAS ALREADY BEGUN!!
This nonmilitary attack is currently in progress. In the last few weeks since the election, an astute observer would have to admit that the enemies of our land are both purposed and determined. Any sensitive citizen should have been shocked at the anti-American, pro-terrorist language being spouted by liberals during the campaign. Now that the people holding those views have been empowered, they are boldly putting their agenda into action. Even when the news media reports their words and their actions that border on treason, most conservatives remain silent. We hardly hear so much as a whisper from the “Bible crowd”, the very ones who are supposed to possess the answers to life’s problems.
Any day now, we may expect to hear of an Oscar being awarded to one of the terrorists in Guantanamo, Afghanistan, Pakistan, or Iraq. Who knows but that the next peace prize might be given to Osama bin Laden? Liberals are lining up to support their favorite anti-American hero. There is no doubt whatever that Israel is already in the sights of those who have been awarded the power to declare that country our number-one enemy.
THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE
None of this should surprise or overcome us. We already knew it would happen. “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come…” (II Timothy 3:1). We also know that all this confusion and its ultimate suffering was planned in order to bring us joy. “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings;…” (I Peter 4:12-13).
The sure judgment of America gives us confidence that God is in control and that His holiness rises above the rage of the heathen. Our job is not to fix the world; only God can do that. Our responsibility is to know God and His Word and to obey Him. I remember hearing Dr. M. R. DeHaan say, “Victory is not always possible, but faithfulness always is”. Though scoffers will doubt, it is patently true that our beloved country is never going to return to what it has been. It is getting worse each day, and it is going to rapidly decline. Those who hate God and God’s people are already in places of leadership. The judgment of God has been set in place.
Our task now is to be faithful. There has never been a time when we needed to know God’s Word more than at this hour. We must set our minds on our God, His book, prayer, evangelism, and proclaiming the whole council of God. Even many formerly fundamental churches have joined the growing group who worship and praise men and are expending their energies in gathering goats. We must be found faithful. We must rejoice in that faithfulness, knowing that all this judgment and turmoil will bring joy to the faithful.

The first time I bought a foreign car, my father (who we referred to as Archie Bunker) complained that "they couldn't whip us in ww2; but they come in a take over our industries without a single shot. There is some truth in this statement as harsh as it sounds. We will find that those who have no morals will take over our government-changing the laws to suit satan wishes-and no war will be fought-he takes their souls-but leaves their life for this life.
