How Would You Be Found?

Acts 9:1,2 "And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem."

In family devotions last night, Dad read from Acts 9. He began talking about verses 1 & 2 and how Saul persecuted the Christians. In verse 2, Dad pointed out the phrase "that if he found any of this way" and wanted to know if we knew what it meant. One of us said something like, "they stood out, they acted like Christians, they dressed right, they talked right, etc." After we talked about it for awhile, Dad asked if that's what we were doing today.
I want to ask you the same question. If you are saved, are you living a good testimony so that you stand out in this wicked world, or are you trying to fit in? Are you saying things that you shouldn't be saying just so you can fit in with your friends? I want to challenge each of you to live right, dress right, talk right, etc. Make a commitment in your heart that you are going to stand out for Jesus.
~Joshua~

Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Amen!! I have to say that my attitude is what gets me in trouble more than anything. Alot of times we'll dress right, talk right and act right...but if our motive or our attitude is wrong there will be no reward for it and we won't be used to the fullest of what God would like. This is a good post Joshua.

Joshua very good post. I would have to agree with Mrs Julie it is my attitude that gets me in trouble with people. Hopefully by the grace of God if they put me in court I would be convicted of being a Christian. Praise God you were able to lead your first soul to the Lord.

That's a great thought. Sad to say many of us wouldn't be found. Thanks.

Sis. Julie & Bro. Tim,
That is so true. Many times our outward appearance is right, but our heart is not right toward God. However, if our heart is right then our outward appearance will be right also.

Bro. Nicholas,
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I've added your link to my blog.

Michelle,
Thanks for stopping by.

Someone once posed a great question, which I will ask here:

If you were tried in a court of law for being a Christian,
would there be enough evidence to convict you?

Court is now in session...
