Are You Thirsty?

Psalm 42:1,2 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?

As I was reading my Bible a few days ago, I came upon these two verses. As I read them I got to thinking about us Christians and how we should be thirsting (desiring) for God's Word. Do you truly have a desire to learn more about God's Word? In Psalm 119:11 it says, Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Are we hiding God's Word daily in our hearts? Some of you may say that you read your Bible everyday. But, are you really hungering after His Word or are you reading just to say that you have read your Bible that day? In Matthew 5:6 it says, Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. I want to challenge each of you to ask the Lord to give you a desire to learn more about God's Word. Start today by digging into His Word. ~Joshua~

Very good Joshua. I know that there are days that I find myself reading just to say I read and fulfilled my Christian "duty" by reading my Bible for the day. Shame on me!! I know we are all guilty of it at one time or another...but we should be reading because we love to read His Word and desire to be fed from it.
